Senmbelek Cookie – A Cultural Tribute in Modern Genetics

Senmbelek Cookie is more than a modern indica hybrid. Its name and creation are rooted in Guadeloupean cultural history. Tiwony (Ronnie Moukoko Edimo), the Guadeloupean-Cameroonian reggae and dancehall artist, specifically chose the name “Senmbelek” to honor Mawso (Jean-Pierre Nanon), a founding pillar of the Akiyo cultural movement in Guadeloupe. Akiyo is known for defending traditional skin-drum percussion and Creole cultural expression; the title “Senmbelek” that Tiwony recorded with Mawso carries that nyabinghi and roots spirit.

After the launch of Nuttea Haze, it was Tiwony himself who honored the collective by approaching us to ask for a variety made for him. A true cannabis enthusiast and fine connoisseur, the work on Senmbelek Cookie was long and laborious in order to match his expectations, with samples of each cross sent to him for validation.

We therefore created the variety especially for Tiwony, crossing our own Mint Cookie ‘Jade Cut’ (a selection brought to the collective by Géo, a talented breeder who joined later, involving Forum Cookies genetics that had survived raids and years of work) with a Motorbreath cut. The result is a fast-flowering, high-yielding cookie-diesel indica that delivers the dense, frosty, relaxing experience modern growers expect — while carrying a deliberate cultural dedication.
